UPPAbaby Vista Car Seat Compatibility: Every Seat + the Exact Adapter
Short answer: the UPPAbaby Vista (2015 and newer) takes an infant car seat three ways. UPPAbaby’s own Mesa and Aria seats click straight onto the frame with no adapter. A Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex or Clek seat needs the Vista & Cruz adapter, SKU 0919-UMA-WW (upper) — and a separate 0918-LMA-WW if you want it in a Vista double’s lower seat. A Chicco KeyFit or Fit2 needs the Chicco adapter 0156. And several popular seats — Graco SnugRide, US Britax B-Safe, Evenflo — have no UPPAbaby adapter at all. The full, cited table is below.
Every pairing gets one of three verdicts: Fits the seat clicks directly onto the frame, no adapter · Adapter compatible with a named adapter part · No fit not supported by the manufacturer.
The three ways a car seat attaches to a Vista
The Vista is a full-size stroller built around UPPAbaby’s own infant seat, so the compatibility story is really three tiers. Get the tier right and the part number falls out of it:
- Direct click-in (no adapter): UPPAbaby’s Mesa and Aria infant seats attach straight to the Vista frame. UPPAbaby states plainly that “Vista and Cruz connect directly with no adapter needed” when you’re using an UPPAbaby car seat.
- Adapter required (part depends on brand): Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex and Clek seats share one adapter family; Chicco has its own. Different brand, different mounting bar — so a bridging adapter is mandatory, and buying the wrong one is the single most common Vista mistake.
- No official fit: some big-selling seats (Graco SnugRide, US-market Britax B-Safe, Evenflo) have no UPPAbaby-published Vista adapter. We mark those No fit rather than guess — on an infant seat, an unverified adapter is a safety line we don’t cross.
Direct fit: UPPAbaby Mesa & Aria (no adapter)
If you’re buying UPPAbaby’s own infant seat, there’s nothing extra to order. The Mesa family and the newer Aria click onto the Vista frame in the primary (upper) position with a tool-free, color-coded lock. This is the direct-fit list for the current 2015-and-newer Vista, Vista V2 and Vista V3:
| UPPAbaby infant seat | Adapter needed? | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Mesa | None — direct click-in | Fits |
| Mesa V2 | None — direct click-in | Fits |
| Mesa Max | None — direct click-in | Fits |
| Mesa V3 | None — direct click-in | Fits |
| Aria | None — direct click-in | Fits |
UPPAbaby: Mesa and Aria seats work with all UPPAbaby strollers; Vista and Cruz need no adapter. Direct fit applies to 2015+ Vista frames. Last verified 2026-07.
For a second Mesa in a Vista double, you add UPPAbaby’s Lower Adapters, part 0901-VLA-NA, to carry the seat in the second position — that’s a same-brand configuration accessory, not a cross-brand bridge, and most single-seat parents never touch it. Worth knowing before you build a double: that part’s own page names the Aria, Mesa V2 and Mesa Max and does not name the Mesa V3. We break down every Mesa generation, position and part number on our UPPAbaby Mesa stroller compatibility page.

Upper vs lower: the adapter detail almost no one spells out
For the Maxi-Cosi / Nuna / Cybex / Clek group, UPPAbaby publishes two different Vista adapters, and they are not interchangeable — nor do they carry an identical model list:
- Upper / primary position — part
0919-UMA-WW, the standard “Car Seat Adapter for Vista & Cruz.” This is the one every single-seat parent needs. Its Maxi-Cosi list is four Mico seats (Mico Max 30, Mico NXT, Mico AP, Mico Max Plus) and it names seven Nuna PIPA models. UPPAbaby notes it is not compatible with the Maxi-Cosi Mico Luxe +. - Lower / second-seat position — part
0918-LMA-WW, for the lower seat of a Vista double. Its list is slightly different: only two Maxi-Cosi Mico seats (Mico NXT, Mico Max Plus), and it adds one Nuna the upper list doesn’t — the PIPA Aire Rx — for eight Nuna models total. It excludes the Maxi-Cosi Prezi.
The practical upshot: for a single stroller you almost always want 0919-UMA-WW. Only add 0918-LMA-WW if you’re running a Vista double and want the infant seat in the lower spot. Buying the lower adapter when you needed the upper (or vice versa) is the most common Vista adapter return. Chicco, by contrast, has only an upper adapter (0156) — so a Chicco KeyFit can ride a Vista in the top position only. Our Chicco KeyFit + Vista guide and Nuna Pipa + Vista guide break each brand down further.
What does not fit the Vista
These are common seats parents ask about that have no UPPAbaby-published Vista adapter. There is no verified way to attach them, so we mark them No fit rather than point you at an unofficial workaround:
- Graco SnugRide (all SnugRide 35 / SnugRide SnugFit variants) — not named on any UPPAbaby Vista adapter.
- Britax B-Safe (US market) — Britax uses its own Click & Go system; no UPPAbaby Vista adapter exists for it.
- Evenflo LiteMax / SafeMax / Gold — no UPPAbaby adapter.
- Doona — the Doona is its own integrated stroller, not a seat you’d adapter onto a Vista.
- Peg Perego Primo Viaggio — no UPPAbaby Vista adapter.
If your seat is in this list and you’re set on a Vista, the clean answer is to switch to a seat UPPAbaby does support (a Mesa is the zero-adapter option), or choose a different stroller that lists your seat. See our guide on whether a universal car seat adapter exists for why there’s no single part that bridges every seat to every frame.
Pre-2015 Vista frames are different
Everything above is for the 2015-and-newer Vista. UPPAbaby explicitly states the 0919-UMA-WW, 0918-LMA-WW and 0156 adapters are not compatible with pre-2015 Vista frames. The original (2013–2014) Vista used a different seat interface and its own legacy Mesa adapter. If you bought your Vista secondhand, read the model year off the frame before ordering any adapter — a current-part adapter will not fit an original frame.
How to buy the right adapter in 30 seconds
- Using an UPPAbaby Mesa or Aria? Buy nothing — it clicks straight on.
- Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex or Clek? Upper seat =
0919-UMA-WW. Only add0918-LMA-WWfor a double’s lower seat. - Chicco KeyFit or Fit2? Adapter
0156, upper position only. - Graco, Britax B-Safe, Evenflo? No official Vista fit — pick a supported seat or a different stroller.
- Confirm the frame is 2015+ and, once installed, test the click: the seat should lock with a firm, definite click and no lift or rock before you roll.
An infant seat on a stroller is only as safe as its attachment, so confirm your exact seat model against UPPAbaby’s own compatibility page before you buy — adapters and model-years change, and the part number is the fit here.

Confirm before you buy. Compatibility and adapter part numbers change with model-years, and a wrong adapter is a safety issue.
