UPPAbaby Cruz Car Seat Compatibility: Every Seat + the Exact Adapter

Short answer: the UPPAbaby Cruz takes an infant car seat one of three ways. UPPAbaby’s own Mesa and Aria seats click straight onto the frame with no adapter. A Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex or Clek seat needs the Vista & Cruz adapter, SKU 0919-UMA-WW. A Chicco KeyFit or Fit2 needs the Chicco adapter 0156. And several popular seats — Graco SnugRide, US Britax B-Safe, Evenflo, Peg Perego — have no UPPAbaby adapter at all. Because the Cruz is a single stroller, there is only one seat position, so it needs just one adapter — none of the Vista’s upper-vs-lower complication. The full, cited table is below.

Every pairing gets one of three verdicts: Fits the seat clicks directly onto the frame, no adapter · Adapter compatible with a named adapter part · No fit not supported by the manufacturer.

The Cruz is a single stroller — which makes this simple

The Cruz is UPPAbaby’s full-featured single stroller — the Vista is the single-to-double sibling. That one difference is why Cruz compatibility is easier than Vista compatibility: the Cruz has just one car seat position, so there is no “upper vs lower” adapter to get wrong. You buy exactly one part per seat brand:

  • Direct click-in (no adapter): UPPAbaby’s Mesa and Aria infant seats attach straight to the Cruz frame. UPPAbaby states plainly that “Vista and Cruz connect directly with no adapter needed” when you’re using an UPPAbaby car seat.
  • Adapter required (part depends on brand): Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex and Clek seats share one adapter (0919-UMA-WW); Chicco has its own (0156). Different brand, different mounting bar — so a bridging adapter is mandatory, and buying the wrong brand’s part is the most common Cruz mistake.
  • No official fit: some big-selling seats (Graco SnugRide, US-market Britax B-Safe, Evenflo, Peg Perego) have no UPPAbaby-published Cruz adapter. We mark those No fit rather than guess — on an infant seat, an unverified adapter is a safety line we don’t cross.

Direct fit: UPPAbaby Mesa & Aria (no adapter)

If you’re buying UPPAbaby’s own infant seat, there’s nothing extra to order. The Mesa family and the newer Aria click onto the Cruz frame with a tool-free, color-coded lock. This is the direct-fit list for the current Cruz and Cruz V2/V3:

Mesa V2None — direct click-inFits
Mesa MaxNone — direct click-inFits
Mesa V3None — direct click-inFits
AriaNone — direct click-inFits

UPPAbaby: Mesa and Aria seats work with all UPPAbaby strollers; Vista and Cruz need no adapter. Last verified 2026-07.

One point of confusion worth clearing up: UPPAbaby sells a “Cruz Upper Adapters” accessory. That is not a required car seat adapter — it’s an optional riser that lifts a Mesa about 4″ higher on the Cruz V2 for closer reach to baby. Your Mesa or Aria attaches to the Cruz with no adapter at all; the riser is a comfort add-on, not a fit part.

“Models UPPAbaby lists” is verbatim from UPPAbaby’s adapter pages — a seat not named there is not a verified pairing. Last verified 2026-07.

Note on the Maxi-Cosi and Nuna lists: the 0919-UMA-WW adapter names four Maxi-Cosi Mico seats and seven Nuna PIPA models exactly as shown above — and UPPAbaby specifically flags that it is not compatible with the Maxi-Cosi Mico Luxe +. A seat outside those named models isn’t a confirmed fit; check UPPAbaby’s current chart before buying. Our Maxi-Cosi + UPPAbaby adapter guide and Nuna Pipa guide break those brands down further.

The Cruz V2 fold gotcha (Chicco adapter)

One Cruz-specific detail retailer listings almost never mention: the Chicco adapter (0156) folds with the adapter attached on the original Cruz — but on the Cruz V2, UPPAbaby says the adapter must be removed before folding. If you’re a daily fold-and-go parent with a Cruz V2 and a Chicco KeyFit, factor in that extra step. The Maxi-Cosi/Nuna/Cybex/Clek adapter (0919-UMA-WW) does not carry the same remove-to-fold note, but it’s always worth a quick test fold before you commit.

What does not fit the Cruz

These are common seats parents ask about that have no UPPAbaby-published Cruz adapter. Some retailer pages list a few of them anyway — but there is no UPPAbaby part that names them, so there is no verified way to attach them. We mark them No fit rather than point you at an unofficial workaround:

  • Graco SnugRide (all SnugRide 35 / SnugRide SnugFit variants) — not named on any UPPAbaby Cruz adapter.
  • Britax B-Safe (US market) — Britax uses its own Click & Go system; no UPPAbaby Cruz adapter exists for it.
  • Evenflo LiteMax / SafeMax / Gold — no UPPAbaby adapter.
  • Peg Perego Primo Viaggio — no UPPAbaby-published Cruz adapter names it, despite some retailer collections claiming a fit.
  • Doona — the Doona is its own integrated stroller, not a seat you’d adapter onto a Cruz.

If your seat is in this list and you’re set on a Cruz, the clean answer is to switch to a seat UPPAbaby does support (a Mesa is the zero-adapter option), or choose a different stroller that lists your seat. See our guide on whether a universal car seat adapter exists for why there’s no single part that bridges every seat to every frame.

Cruz vs Vista: same adapters, one fewer decision

Because the Cruz and Vista share the same car seat mount, they use the same cross-brand adapters — 0919-UMA-WW for the Maxi-Cosi/Nuna/Cybex/Clek group and 0156 for Chicco. The difference is the Vista is a single-to-double, so it also has a lower car seat position with its own separate adapter (part 0918-LMA-WW). The Cruz, being a single stroller, has no lower position — so you never need the lower adapter, and you never have to figure out which of the two you’re buying. If you’re comparing the two frames, see our full UPPAbaby Vista car seat compatibility guide.

Unlike the Vista, the Cruz has no pre-2015 frames to worry about — the Cruz line launched in 2015, so any Cruz you buy new or secondhand takes the current adapters. (UPPAbaby’s “not compatible with pre-2015 frames” note applies to the original 2013–2014 Vista, which the Cruz never had.)

How to buy the right adapter in 30 seconds

  1. Using an UPPAbaby Mesa or Aria? Buy nothing — it clicks straight on.
  2. Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex or Clek? One part: 0919-UMA-WW. Confirm your exact seat model is on UPPAbaby’s list first (Mico Luxe + is excluded).
  3. Chicco KeyFit or Fit2? Adapter 0156 — and remember to remove it before folding a Cruz V2.
  4. Graco, Britax B-Safe, Evenflo, Peg Perego? No official Cruz fit — pick a supported seat or a different stroller.
  5. Test the click. Once installed, the seat should lock with a firm, definite click and no lift or rock before you roll.

An infant seat on a stroller is only as safe as its attachment, so confirm your exact seat model against UPPAbaby’s own compatibility page before you buy — adapters and model-years change, and the part number is the fit here.

Confirm before you buy. Compatibility and adapter part numbers change with model-years, and a wrong adapter is a safety issue. We cite each manufacturer’s own chart and show when we last verified it — but always confirm the exact pairing on the manufacturer’s current compatibility page or with their support before purchasing.
